While surfing through the internet, looking for a smart temperature sensor, you must have come across the Govee and SensorPush. And if you’ve already decided between the two, then congratulations! You’re one step away from the perfect ambiance in your room!

But if not, then don’t worry. I’m here to make you understand the difference. Govee and SensorPush are both smart temperature sensors. So you can get records, graphs, push notifications, and even safe exporting.

Chances are, you can’t decide between the two. While both have their own unique features, only one can be the true winner.

Govee vs. SensorPush: Which One is Better?

While reviewing the two, I was at a standstill. Both of the smart temperature sensors had some amazing features to offer. For example, both of them had spectacular accuracy. And both had about the same functionality. However, when it came down to pick the one, I found the Govee Smart Sensor is slightly better than the SensorPush.

But take note: I used the word “slightly”. In reality, the main differences were almost negligible. There was only a 0.14 F error difference between the Govee and the SensorPush. And the apps and connectivity were about the same. Of the two products, both are completely worth the money.

Of course, durability obviously poses an issue. Both the Govee and the SensorPush smart temperature sensors will lose battery life faster in freezers. And the sensor can get blocked by locked doors.

Measurement Accuracy:

·       Govee Smart Sensor:

The Govee Smart Temperature Sensor has great accuracy right down to two decimal points. This device can measure temperature up to 140 F (60 C). Temperature recordings can vary by an error of 0.36 F (0.2 C). Furthermore, the humidity range is between 0% and 99%. This sensor has an error capacity of 3%.

As compared to others, the temperature error is very low. Most have temperature errors as high as 1 F (0.6 C). The humidity error, although seemingly high, is actually pretty common among humidity sensors. Comparatively, both the sensors are highly accurate and get the measurements correct.

·       SensorPush Wireless Sensor:

As for the SensorPush Smart Temperature Sensor, the temperature range is practically the same. It can measure from -40 F (-40 C) to up to 140 F (60 F). However, the temperature error here is a bit complicated. If you’re measuring anywhere between 0 C to 60 C, then the error is 0.5 F (0.3 C). Temperature below 0 C will have an error of 1.3 F (0.7 C)

For humidity, the range is between 0 and 100%. If measuring humidity between 20% and 80%, the error is a typical 3%. When measuring the full range, this error can increase up to 7.5%.

Winner – Govee:

For accuracy, the Govee smart temperature sensor is a definite winner. Its temperature error is only 0.36 F, as compared to the 0.5 F of the SensorPush. Also, with the SensorPush, at extremer values, the error increases. This is probably the case with the Govee too, although it’s never mentioned.

Mobile App:

·       Govee Smart Sensor:

The Govee Sensor’s mobile app features Wifi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. With the app, you can monitor an infinite number of sensors. Also, you can connect the sensors to an unlimited number of phones and devices. This smart temperature sensor will give you real-time updates about the temperature and humidity every minute.

You can opt to send regular notification alerts to your phone. This can be done in case your temperature goes beyond your preset limit. You can also mail the graphs and readings to your phone. The sensor can connect to the app from as far as 328 feet. Stay within this range to get info on temperature and humidity conditions.

·       SensorPush Wireless Sensor:

The SensorPush smart temperature sensor has about the same app features as the Govee. It features connectivity through Wifi and Bluetooth 4.0 The connectivity distance is about 325 feet, not too far from Govee’s. Moreover, you can opt to send yourself push notifications to your phone.

The app also tells you whether the features have fallen or risen since the previous minute. This will give you a good idea of how well your humidifiers and refrigerators are working. You can also view a line graph of the readings from the past hour, day, week, month, or year.

Winner – SensorPush:

For this round, it was hard to choose between the two smart temperature sensors. Both SensorPush and Govee’s apps record and display data efficiently. You get the benefit of push notifications and graphical readings. However, the one difference is that SensorPush’s app also tells you whether the features are falling or rising.

Battery Life:

·       Govee Smart Sensor:

Govee’s smart temperature sensor has a battery life of 365 days. The heavy-duty CR123A ambiance battery is powerful enough to last for a year. Furthermore, the device uses up a minimal amount of battery life. So it will last for quite a while. Normally, appliances don’t require frequent battery changes. A battery that can last for a year means your device won’t go cold.

Battery life isn’t all that matters though. The strength and range of the sensor will inevitably decrease with time. But this will usually happen after your first year with the Govee.

·       SensorPush Wireless Sensor:

The SensorPush smart temperature sensor also has a battery life of 365 days. Which means it will last just as long as your average Govee Sensor. The SensorPush uses a CR2477 lithium-ion battery. The battery cannot be recharged but can be replaced by the user. It is recommended to get the same type of battery every year.

Batteries can lose a life when put in colder conditions. While the SensorPush has been designed to resist low temperatures, the battery can still get affected. Expect the battery to lose some health when you use it in the freezer.

Winner – Tie:

It’s a tie for now. Both products use similar batteries that last for up to a year. And both of them deteriorate when used in the freezer. There wasn’t much of a difference in battery life. But there wasn’t anything that specifically stood out either. 1 year is normal for temperature sensors.

Storage Capability:

·       Govee Smart Sensor:

When you’re recording multiple readings, you might want to view them later. With the Govee, you can view up to 20 days of readings. But this is just the amount that is stored on the device itself. The device will erase the reading for the 20th day and replace it with the new one.

In the smart temperature sensor app, however, you can view the data for years. This is mainly through cloud storage. You can view readings such as temperature, humidity, their averages, and the maxima and minima. This will be a good use if you want to check your conditions over time.

·       SensorPush Wireless Sensor:

The SensorPush smart temperature sensor also allows you to view records from years back. You can view the recordings from the very day you buy the Sensor. Even if you download the app a few days after you buy the sensor, you can still view the recordings. Just be sure that you download the app and activate cloud storage before you reach 20 days.

You can also opt to get all the readings exported in CSV format. This can be a great choice if you want to showcase the findings in a presentation. One drawback though is that you can’t view the records on their website. You can only view them of the app, which requires a lot of navigating through screens.

Winner – Govee:

While the storage capacity and time period are the same, convenience is not. You cannot go to the SensorPush website and view readings of different sensors in different tabs. This would speed up the process more. But unfortunately, the feature is not included with the SensorPush smart temperature sensor. So it loses this round due to this inconvenience.

Pros and Cons:

Govee Smart Sensor:


  • Higher accuracy with an error of less than 1 F and 3 RH.
  • Can work in multiple conditions; hot, cold, or humid.
  • Lasts you for a year. Great for long-term monitoring.
  • Perfect for use in wine freezers, cigar humidors, and nail salons.
  • Smart temperature sensor. Readings are consistent between all units.
  • The app can connect to multiple devices at the same time.


  • Battery life runs out faster when in the freezer or cold conditions.
  • Not waterproof. Humidity can seep inside and ruin the circuiting.

SensorPush Wireless Sensor:


  • You can connect it through Bluetooth to your smartphone or tablet.
  • It can export through CSV to presentations and Excel files.
  • Accurate readings right down to the second decimal.
  • You can connect your app to an unlimited number of sensors.
  • Records are stored in the cloud forever.
  • Readings are highly consistent and do not differ across devices.


  • You cannot calibrate it manually. This can increase the chances of an error.
  • The humidity sensor can be pretty inaccurate in extreme conditions.
  • It cannot be used in the freezer without damage to the battery life.

Final Thoughts:

So that settles it. The Govee Smart Temperature Sensor is better than the SensorPush. However, as I stated, both have some very similar features. And the differences were mostly negligible. I had to choose one over the other based on these negligible differences. But if you ask me, practically, both can work perfectly well.

Of course, you will run into durability issues. This is usually something you can’t avoid, as not all products are manufactured the same. This will also depend on where you’re using them and how you’re maintaining them.

But all in all, both Govee and SensorPush have certainly outdone themselves. I recommend buying one of them right now. Trust us, they can’t be worse than whatever sensor you’re already using.
